Published in SLICE Magazine!
Slice Magazine used a bunch (six- whoa!) of my photos in their Spring/Summer "Heroes" themed issue. This magazine is awesome! Fans of McSweeney's or The Believer will certainly want to check this publication out and keep it on your radar. It's exciting and very satisfying to have my photographs nestled in the pages with some fitting fictional explorations, as well as childrens' drawings, an 826 Valencia article, and interviews with the likes of Adrian Tomine (best known for his ongoing graphic novel series Optic Nerve and his periodical illustrations in The New Yorker) and Pulitzer Prize winning C.K. Williams. This is only the second issue from this Brooklyn-based non-profit print magazine, and it is already so strong that you can be sure it will continue to deliver the goods in the future. Check their website to see where they carry Slice in your city.

"There Goes Hope, Running Across The Street"
Tonight, biking down Columbus Blvd, I became caught in the mess of excitement taking place outside The Sheet Metal Workers' Hall, where Obama was to attend a fundraiser hosted by the Philadelphia Democratic City Committee. There were lots of police cars scattered about, and both Obama and Hillary supporters were running rampant all through the streets, causing quite a bit of traffic congestion. I missed what might of been the best photo of all, and which prompted a man to chuckle and shout out the statement that is the title of this post (the people with the big HOPE sign were heading home for the night).
